Mr Justice Rix has been appointed a Lord Justice of Appeal.

New English Civil Procedure Code

As a result of recommendations made by Lord Woolf, currently Master of the Rolls, a brand new civil procedure code has recently been brought into force in England, which affects all civil and commercial cases.

Lord Justice Hobhouse and Lord Justice Millett have been appointed Lords of Appeal in Ordinary from 1 October 1998.

Lord Justice Saville has been appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in succession to Lord Mustill.
