The applicant shipowners (“Galsworthy”) asserted that they had concluded a charterparty of their vessel Canton Trader with Parakou Shipping Pte Ltd of Singapore (“Parakou”). Galsworthy commenced London arbitration proceedings against Parakou asserting that Parakou repudiated its obligations in terms of the charterparty in that it refused to accept delivery of the vessel.
